UptimeBot provides an easy way to control the sensitivity of uptime monitoring.
Alert Sensitivity is a parameter that controls how fast you will be notified about a problem with your website that requires investigation. Users can define the Sensitivity value, measured in minutes, to control when and how outage alerts are issued.
UptimeBot offers the following Sensitivity values:
- High (2 minutes);
- Medium (5 minutes);
- Low (10 minutes).
The default alert Sensitivity is High (2 minutes), however, you can adjust it when either adding a new web page monitoring or editing it.
With the sensitivity set to "High" you will be quickly notified about any new incidents, as soon as they've been detected by UptimeBot monitoring servers.
If you are receiving many alerts about short outages, that are not critical for your business needs, you might want to decrease the alert sensitivity to only be notified about long-lasting incidents.
