Incident management allows you to bring the right people to resolve the issue.
You can either take care of an outage yourself or assign it to another user. After assigning an incident, you will show the other users in the channel who’s responsible for getting the system back up and running.
When an incident strikes, UptimeBot will fire alert to the dedicated channel offering two options to handle it:
- I'm on it (means that you will guide an incident to its resolution);
- Assign (will give you an option to choose the go-to person).
If you decide to assign, the go-to person should confirm they're taking care of an incident.
Once it is confirmed, UptimeBot will let know about it to the dedicated channel.
Note: If nobody takes care of the incident and the check doesn't get fixed itself, UptimeBot makes it inactive in 7 days.
