UptimeBot uses a distributed monitoring system to minimize false-positives.
There're three monitoring servers in UptimeBot and every time downtime is detected, subsequent requests are sent from the remote servers located in different countries/continents to make sure that the problem exists. Each server sends the request at intervals as short as 60 seconds.
Thus UptimeBot reports that your site is down in case the problem is confirmed by at least two separate monitoring servers.
The domains are checked once an hour.
